Patient Update: Long-eared Owl
On May 28th, we welcomed a rare and beautiful long-eared owl into our care. Almost exactly one month later, it was ready to be released back to its original location, a moment we eagerly anticipated. Patient Update: Great Horned Owls
This summer, Calgary Wildlife had the remarkable opportunity to supply care for multiple great horned owls (bubo virginianus). Each of these owlets were orphans who were admitted to our clinic over the span of two weeks, from the end of April through the first week of May. Northern Long-eared Owl
On November 1st, 2022, a northern long-eared owl (Asio otus) was admitted to Calgary Wildlife unable to stand. On examination, our team found trauma to both eyes and noted that he was exhibiting symptoms of neurological trauma. This Great Grey Owl originally came into our care after being found suspected to be struck by a car on April 14th, 2022.
