World Migratory Bird Day â€‹

Each spring and fall, migratory birds travel incredible distances, with many passing through Calgary along the way. For World Migratory Bird Day, Calgary Wildlife will be sharing ways our community can help protect these birds during one of the most demanding parts of their lives.

 

Visit our booth to learn about common migration challenges, including window strikes, habitat loss, outdoor cats, and litter, and discover simple actions that can make Calgary a safer place for birds on the move.

Discovery Days at Bow Habitat Station​

 

We’re excited to be part of Discovery Days at the Bow Habitat Station! Come visit our booth on select Fridays in March, April, and May to meet our team, learn about local wildlife, and discover simple ways we can all live more harmoniously with the animals that share our city. From fun activities and interactive games to expert tips on coexistence and conservation, there’s something for nature lovers of all ages. See you there!​​​​

PetValu - Washes 4 Wildlife â€‹

Pet Valu Deer Run will be donating the proceeds from their dog washes for the day to support injured and orphaned wildlife in care at Calgary Wildlife.

​

Bring your pup by for a wash and help provide food, medication, housing, and specialized care for local wildlife on their journey back to the wild. While you're there, stop by our booth to chat with us about wildlife coexistence

Calgary Wildlife is excited to be part of the Airdrie Children’s Festival, a free, family-friendly event filled with children’s entertainment, hands-on activities, creative learning opportunities, and interactive Inspiration Stations.

Bow After Hours at Bow Habitat Station​

Calgary Wildlife is heading to Bow After Hours at Bow Habitat Station for an adult-only evening of wildlife, science, and nature nerd fun.

This 18+ event gives adults the chance to explore the Discovery Centre after hours, enjoy special programming, connect with community partners, and learn a few things you definitely did not get taught on your average nature walk. Stop by the Calgary Wildlife booth to test your wildlife knowledge, chat about the wild neighbours who share our city, and enjoy a fun night out with your fellow nature-loving adults.

Wild Alberta Hub at the Calgary Zoo​

Calgary Wildlife is excited to visit the Wild Alberta Hub at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, a summer learning space that celebrates Alberta’s incredible wildlife, ecosystems, and conservation stories.

​

Included with the price of zoo admission, the Wild Alberta Hub gives visitors a chance to learn more about the animals and landscapes that make our province wild. Stop by to meet Calgary Wildlife at the lawn across from the muskox, try a hands-on activity, and discover simple ways to coexist with the wild neighbours who share our city.

Alberta Biodiversity Festival at the Calgary Zoo​

Calgary Wildlife is excited to be part of the Alberta Biodiversity Festival at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, a family-friendly celebration of the incredible wildlife, plants, and ecosystems that make our province so special.

​

Included with daily zoo admission, this festival brings together community organizations, conservation partners, and interactive booths throughout the zoo, giving visitors the chance to learn, explore, and connect with Alberta’s biodiversity in many different ways.

​

Stop by the Calgary Wildlife booth to discover more about the wild animals who share our communities, how we help injured and orphaned wildlife, and the simple steps we can all take to be champions for local wildlife conservation.
