Volunteer Orientation Sessions

We invite you to attend our volunteer orientations, scheduled for the following dates and times. Participants doing level one orientation must also complete level two.

The level one orientation cover topics such as:

  • Pick up and rescue procedures for volunteer drivers
  • Making a rescue checklist
  • Basic handling and restraint
  • Daily duties and food preparation


The level two orientation becomes more in depth and topics include:
  • Capture and release of raptors
  • Basic handling and restraint
  • Basic first aid and assisting in physical examinations
  • Tube feeding and bandaging

PLEASE NOTE: A durable pair of leather gloves (UFA or Marks Work Wearhouse) is essential for the level two orientation.

COST:

Members are free; non-members are $5.00 (this is the price for both orientations).
**Existing volunteers who have already had an orientation or received certification in IWRC 1AB course can register for level two only, for a raptor handling and first aid refresher**
